GENERAL CONFERENCE & ALLERGIC REACTIONS

HELLO!

Wasn’t General Conference just AMAZING! Holy cow after each session I literally felt like I was on a spiritual high! I couldn’t stop smiling and laughing and saying hi to everyone. It was awesome.
I LOVED Rasband, Stevenson, and Renlund’s testimonies! They were so great and I’m so excited to hear more from them. When Hugo Montoya’s named popped up on the screen I immediately thought,
‘Hello. My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die.’ I loved his advice to smile. You’re so much prettier when you smile! Elder Holland’s talk about maternal love was SO good. Sister Wilson and I started crying a bit during it. #emotionalsistermissionaries I love and sustain Thomas S. Monson! What an amazing man! I hope we’ll all take the challenge to ‘ponderize’. What a cool idea!
What I felt like I heard repeated multiple times was, ‘Always remember Him’. Think about how much good you would continually do if you ‘Always remembered Him.’ If Jesus Christ and His Atonement was always on your mind…. We promise to do that every Sunday when we take the sacrament but how many times during the week do we actually take the time to ponder Christ and His life?
All in all this week was good because Conference was SO good! Wednesday night we teach our English class and it’s so fun and it’s been going really good! We have an average of about 7 people each night and I love the Hispanic ladies! They always say hi and bye with a hug and a kiss on the cheek. They’re super sweet. Kissing on the cheek isn’t weird here either. At first when a ward member kissed me on the cheek I was a little weird-ed out but now it’s no big deal and I love it. ANYWAY! I got super sick in the middle of the class and had to run out and head for the bathroom! I ended up throwing up the rest of the night with a fever and got a bunch of hives. It was lame. We aren’t sure what I ate that made me have the reaction because I thought I wasn’t allergic to anything. Hopefully we will track down the ingredient so that doesn’t happen again.
We got to watch conference at Ward member’s houses and it was so much fun! We watched a session with Sister Lugo and I braided her hair during a part of it.
Remember that new friend I made last week during emails that was having the baby that night? We went by and saw her baby yesterday and are going to start teaching her! She is so sweet and cute and I’m so excited to teach her! She told us that after she had her new baby boy, Brandon Jr., she started to cry and felt sad but happy. A.K.A. the Holy Ghost. We’ll be going back tomorrow 🙂
It’s been raining for 2 weeks now because of all that hurricane business going on and I’ve really enjoyed it! The work is going well and I’ll hopefully be telling you about some baptisms coming up next week! My time is up! Have a good y’all! Love you!
XOXOXO
