Tune of the week: My Sweet Lord by George Harrison. Listen to it!
Joke of the week: How often did our investigators drop us this week?
Answer: Like the leaves!
When an investigator texted us. “Please leave me alone. I am not interested.” Sister Huang quickly replied with the usual response we had been giving people and I said, “Wow. That was quick.” She replied with a serious face that her heart was numb because of all the people ‘stabbing it’. We just laughed and laughed. What else can you do? We tend to make light of most situations. We honestly are just using this opportunity to re-create our teaching pool with those that are more elect and prepared so we don’t feel down at all! Our transfer goal this transfer is to see others as they can become. I really felt I applied that this week. Although we had made a goal to find 12 New Investigators this week, the number wasn’t on my mind but seeing stranger’s divinity and potential was. We met many great people, including a family from Puerto Rico that had 3 teenage daughters seeking for truth and a mom and her 2 teenage daughters who let us right in and at the end of the lesson asked US when we could come back. Saturday and Sunday we spent most the day in Lumberton helping flood victims by gutting out their homes which includes; ripping up the floor, removing dry wall where there was water or where the mold had spread to which was usually 3 ft or the entire wall, taking out there ruined, wet stuff, etc. We added up our numbers at the end of the week and I was surprised when the total number of new investigators we found was 13. It’s so awesome how when you are focusing on others needs and trying to see others as they become, the Lord provides.
Invitation of the week:
“…learn for yourselves who you really are. Ask your Heavenly Father in the name of Jesus Christ how He feels about you and your mission here on earth. If you ask with real intent, over time the Spirit will whisper the life-changing truth to you. Record those impressions, review them often, and follow through with exactness.
I promise you that when you begin to catch even a glimpse of how your Heavenly Father sees you and what He is counting on you to do for Him, your life will never be the same!”
I can testify that YOU have some of God’s divinity within you. You have limitless potential with Christ’s help. If you ask in prayer how we feels about you, he will help you feel it and like President Nelson said, “Your life will never be the same!” I love you! God bless!
