Hello Moto

Do you remember that old ringtone that was all funky and said, “Hello Moto”?

Last week we had a Hello Zone Conference and got to meet the new mission president and his wife, President James and Sister James! They’re amazing! They just carry the spirit with them and their smiles are contagious. Also something cool about President James is that he is letting us attend the temple with a Sister in the ward who is finally taking out her endowment! She invited us because we have been working with her family. They are a part member family in our ward. Sister G is the one going through the temple and her husband is not a member and doesn’t want to be taught but we have been going over there to do FHE and he is really softening his heart! He is from the Dominican Republic and him and Sister Ibarra get along so well and speak Spanish a lot of the time we are there! We’re excited to go through the temple with her in August.

This week was all over the place. We had our first English class but nobody showed up.. So we will be advertising even more this week and changing the day to Wednesday. Yesterday we got a call from a lady about the English class and she and her husband will be coming this week! So hopefully after we get a few people there the word will spread!
I feel like you can plan all you want, but the Lord will ultimately lead you where HE wants you. We made plans for this week and I am sure Heavenly Father was just laughing, because everyday was changed because of certain circumstances. But every day was good and I saw little miracles happen because our plans changed. We were on an exchange with a member and a lot of people we planned to visit weren’t answering or weren’t home who we really wanted to see with that member. So we went to see a less active in our ward and when we knocked on the door someone else answered. Her name is Cynthia. Cynthia is living with this less active sister, Sister Alverado and her two kids, and has a son who is also living  there too. But everyone who lived in the home was on vacation except her and for some reason she let us into the house. So we got to know her and talked with her. We taught her a little bit about the Book of Mormon and the Atonement. When I was testifying about Christ and his Atonement I felt the spirit there with me. Helping me say what Cynthia needed to hear. It was amazing. She is a really sweet gal and we felt the spirit so strong with her. She started crying during our lesson and told us how our timing was crazy, and that she doesn’t really talk to many people and that she never cries but she was crying because she felt ‘nice’ (the spirit). Although she said she wasn’t interested in going to church she wanted her son to attend our church. So we will be finding a family to pick up her son Josh who is 10 to go to church if the Alvarado’s don’t come.We got her number and are going to go back over there and make Caribbean food sometime! That should be fun.
That’s just one story of many that happened this week because our plans didn’t go the way we had planned them to. Which ended up being a major blessing!
I love ya’ll so much. I guess I’ll just leave you with one of my favorite quotes. Try to lend a hand whenever you can 🙂
“My brothers and sisters, we are surrounded by those in need of our attention, our encouragement, our support, our comfort, our kindness – be they family members, friends, acquaintances, or strangers. We are the Lord’s hands here upon the earth, with the mandate to serve and to lift His children. He is dependent upon each of us….”
